“Our human compassion binds us the one to the other – not in pity or patronizingly, but as human beings who have learnt how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future.” – Nelson Mandela.
As we prepare for our annual Heroes Day Celebration here in Antigua & Barbuda on Monday 9, December the death of beloved peace icon Nelson Mandela will resonate with us. Mr. Mandela redefined the meaning of courage, sacrifice and forgiveness and to the world it feels as if we have lost a “beloved father and a leader who belong to all humanity.
As Mr. Mandela did our National Heroes played a significant roles in our history and the building of our nation, breaking boundaries and barriers.
